Sing-a-long

Sherwood

A stroke left her with severe expressive aphasia and even with months of therapy, she still had very limited verbal communication…but she loved music. Once a week, after determining some of her favorite songs and artists we had a “singing” session where she would hum, dance, and sing a long to her favorite songs (and usually several therapists would join in). She was always surprised at how much easier the words came and it always lifted her spirits. She loved Elvis and particularly enjoyed singing “You ain’t nothing but a hound dog” to our pretty boy PTA!
