Therapy Garden

Cherokee

For the past several years, we’ve planted a therapy garden every spring.  The patients really enjoy planting, watching everything grow, and helping to pick (and eat) the fresh veggies.  This task helps to work on cognition, upper body strength, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, trunk control, balance, activity tolerance, and can be graded to be completed in either sitting or standing.  Here is one of our little ladies helping to plant cucumbers.
